Guitars Made the Old Fashioned Way – By Hand

My Marcovis Story: I’ve been a long-time player with an impressive guitar collection that contains PRS, Anderson, Knaggs, Gibson, Fender and several other brands. I must say not a dud in the bunch. Back in 2021 I decided to add another guitar to my collection, but I wanted this to be something different. I did not want to buy another production guitar, but I was thinking about something from a small builder. At that time The Philadelphia Guitar show was being held, so my good friend Nick and I ventured over to it. We started making the rounds and I stumbled on the Marcovis booth. One of the guitars on display caught my eye. That’s when I met Michael Marcovis. He greeted me and the first thing I asked him was “Are you the builder”? The answer was yes. Just want I wanted to hear. He handed me a Marcovis Martini with a Redwood top and Limba back, unusual combination of woods. I examined it very, very closely and the workmanship was SUBLIME! Every aspect of the build was beautiful from fitment to the finish. Michael plugged me into a Marshall demo amp and I hit one note, I looked at Nick and said wow, just beautiful. I was very impressed but I still wanted to look around the show. Thanked Michael, I continued on my hunt. Well, I went back, had Mike adjust the action for me, I left, came back again, played it some more discussed more of the build and purchased the Marcovis! This November marked four years since the purchase and without exaggeration I can say I play the Marcovis almost exclusively. Sometimes I feel guilty that I don’t play my other guitars so I grab one and play it but I always go back to my Marcovis. I am so happy with the guitar! I’ve shared it with my guitar buddies, several have played it and they all have agreed that it is an amazing instrument. Extraordinary workmanship from a VERY talented builder. Thank you, Michael!

I went to the guitar show In Philly. I saw all the usual guitars you expect to see at a show like this – BUT – there was this one guitar – the Koa top caught my eye me from 50 feet away! And then I played it – the sound that came from it was a blend of all things comforting about music. It’s the finest instrument I’ve played in my life!

It's epic! It’s beautiful. It feels great. It sounds awesome. I’m about 30 minutes into playing. The neck is so smooth and the action is perfect. Thank you! I couldn’t be happier with this guitar. Your work is outstanding! If my wife ever lets me get another custom guitar, you’ll be hearing from me.
